Saeco Spidem Villa Espresso Machine
What coffee lover doesn’t love a good espresso? The jolt it gives us, the aroma, the taste, everything about it is pure heaven. But don’t you just wish you could sit down and relax with a good cup of espresso without having to go out to your favorite coffee shop?
But with espresso machines like the Saeco A-SP-SV Spidem Villa Super-Automatic Espresso Machine, I guess that problem has been solved for many an espresso lover. The makers of this machine claims that it can produce espresso comparable to those made in coffee shops in Italy. I’d say it pretty much accurate, it does produce rich and bold tasting espresso that just fits my liking.
What I like about this machine is that it is very simple to use. You add the beans into the chamber and the water into the reservoir and you wait for your espresso to come. The machine comes built-in with a conical burr grinder, an adjustable doser, and a tamper that does all the job for you at the touch of a button. Who would’ve known making espresso can be this easy.
Priming the machine is really not much of a problem, you just do it the first time you use the machine. You just have to open the steam valve and let some water come out from it. Cleaning the frothing wand is just as easy.
What really bugs me about this machine, and a lot of people are iffy about this part of this espresso maker, is that it has too much plastic parts for its price. For something worth $500++, you’d expect less plastic and more sturdy materials on the machine. Some people also share concerns about having to bleed the machine before brewing a second cup, because using it immediately without doing so can cause the overheating warning to sound off.
But despite this minor complaint, the device is still rather easy to use and maintain, so I don’t see any problems with it having plastic parts. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who’s looking to enjoy a nice cup of espresso right at the comfort of their home sans the tedious process of actual espresso making.
