Inside Coffee Shops
Would you agree that opportunities can open up for you in a coffee shop? I’m a living testimony of the many different opportunities that I came across just by hanging out in my favorite coffee shop. If you’re curious as to what opportunities I’m talking about, let me enumerate them for you.
Friends
I’ve made lots of friends just by staying in a coffee shop at hours on end. There are table sharers that you end up sharing a conversation or two with, other regulars who you become friends with, and the baristas who make you the perfect cup of coffee for you every time.
Jobs
I don’t hang out at the coffee shop with nothing to do. Most of the time I’ve got my laptop with me and I bring my work there. Sometimes, friends would pass me and ask me what I’m doing. I explain my work and some of them turn out to be looking for someone who does what I do. Other times, those coffee shop friends end up referring me to other people. But then again, there’s always a barista opening every once in a while that you can take advantage of.
Learning
Every once in a while, you’ll come into your favorite Starbucks branch and find yourself being called in for a coffee seminar. You’ll get to learn a little more about the different places where the coffee franchise gets their coffees, the difference between the different beans, etc. So, you end up learning something new about coffee.
Experience new tastes
This isn’t something regular, but every once in a while, your favorite coffee shop will come up with a new blend, introduce new beans or pastries, or make limited beans available to the market. It is during these times that I take the opportunity to explore other tastes.
How about you, what opportunities have you come across while hanging out at your favorite coffee place? Do feel free to share your experiences.
