Folgers Coffeehouse Series – Black Silk

Good, dark roast coffee is kinda hard to come by. I know, there are a lot of branded coffees that offer great dark roasts out there. But sometimes, you chance upon those really burnt ones that turn you off. But I thought I’d give Folgers’ very own dark roast offerings a try.

First up on their dark roast offerings is the Black Silk. True enough, it did go down pretty smooth. You’d detect a bit of smokiness in the drink, but that’s pretty standard with dark roasts, if you ask me.

The coffee smelt dark and rich, which got me a bit excited while I was waiting for the coffee to finish brewing. Surprisingly enough, Folgers Black Silk didn’t really come off as too bitter or too burnt. Just the right amount of smokiness.

Mix it with sugar and creamer or milk, if you please, but with a coffee as strong and flavorful as this, I’d rather take it straight. Perfect for days when I’m having difficulty dragging myself out of the house to work.

If you’ve tried Folgers’ Black Silk, please do share your thoughts and experience on the drink. I’d sure like to know if you enjoyed it as much as I did.
