Espresso Culture
Personally, I prefer to take my espresso straight up with brown sugar or honey. But upon digging through the Internet, I found that people from different nationalities take their espressos differently. Here are some of the ones I found online:
- Most Italians take their espresso with sugar
- The Germans and the Swiss take their espresso with equal parts of hot chocolate.
- Mexicans drink their espresso with cinammon
- Belgians mix their espresso with chocolates, too
- Middle Eastern coffee lovers add cardamom and spices to their espresso
- Austrian put whipped cream on top of their espresso
- Egyptians like their espresso pure and strong that they seldom put sugar, milk, or cream to it.
- Egyptians serve unsweetened coffee for funerals and sweetened coffee for weddings.
As an added espresso fact, the Italians are still considered the unrivaled espresso masters of the world.
How about you? Do you agree with the last espresso trivia? Do you have a special espresso blend you’d like to share?
