Brookstone Single Cup Coffee Maker
Most single-serve coffee makers are usually pod coffee makers. And the common dilemma of the regular household is that a lot of the single-serve pod coffee machines available these days cannot be used for regular ground coffee.
So I went to find me a single serve coffeemaker that works just on ground coffee. I was able to find something that suited my fancy – the Brookstone Single Cup Coffee Maker.
Sleek and space efficient, the Brookstone Single Cup Coffee Maker fit rather well in my pretty crowded kitchen counter. The machine came with a travel mug, so I can use it when I’m going to have my coffee on the go. The mug is even double walled to keep the coffee hot for a longer time.
The machine also came with a standard-sized coffee scoop so that you’ll have a consistent tasting cup of coffee everytime you brew. It also has a washable, reusable filter, so we don’t have to worry about replacing filters.
It has an auto-shutoff function, so you don’t have to worry about wasting electricity if you forget about the machine. It will turn itself off when it’s done brewing, which is about 4 minutes or so. Actually, I’ve been told that it only takes 2 minutes to brew, but you have to wait another couple of minutes to make sure all the coffee has dripped through the filter.
I don’t really mind that. It saves me from having to clean up drips.
The travel mug cleverly doubles as a measuring cup for the amount of water you put into the reservoir. However, there’s a maximum water level indicator that you should be careful not to exceed or else coffee will overflow from the mug.
Like clockwork, I put the coffee filter onto the filter holder, put in 2 scoops of ground coffee, and close the lid. You put the travel mug (or pretty much any mug that fits into the mug chamber) in, press on the brew button, and wait.
The brew button is the power button. It is conveniently located just below the mug pad. It has an LED indicator to show whether the machine is on or not. You’ll definitely know whether it’s already doing its magic.
I think Brookstone Single Cup Coffee Maker is a pretty handy device if you’re the only one in the family who likes drinking coffee. At least, with a single cup coffee maker, you don’t waste precious coffee grounds by making more drinks than you can consume.
