Black And Decker Burr Mill Coffee Bean Grinder

Like always, the task of looking for a cheap burr mill for my coffee beans isn’t easy. I had to check out online stores to see if there were any that actually fit my budget. I was looking for something below the hundreds but I ended up with something that I consider a steal – the Black & Decker Burr Mill Coffee Bean Grinder.

So it’s small. I actually like that feature of the device. Makes it an easy device to store away. The stainless steel make gives me an idea that its sturdy enough. The brand should actually stand for quality so I’m thinking this should hold for a long time.

Let’s move on to the finer details of the Black & Decker Burr Mill, shall we? I like the fact that it’s easy to customize the setting. The dial lets you adjust it from a fine grind that’s great for Turkish-style coffee, to a coarser grind that works best for percolators and French presses.

It also has a safety feature wherein the machine doesn’t start grinding unless the top cover is securely closed and the ground receptacle is in place. It eliminates the risks of having your finger ground with the coffee, or the machine making a mess with the coffee grinds.

The only unfriendly thing about this very handy device is that it isn’t dishwasher-friendly. But that’s a minor drawback. For something priced at roughly $25, I’m loving the Black & Decker Burr Mill Coffee Bean Grinder. I’ve used it for a couple of days now and haven’t seen any signs of wearing out. I’ve heard word that it eventually ends up with an inconsistent grind, but I am yet to encounter that.

I’d like to know if you’ve used this machine though. How did it fare on your end?

for FP it's a relitivly good grinder
in the 2-4 cup home brewing range, for expresso or turkish it's obviously not gonna do the job ( duh lol) .for a day to day use and if your ONLY makeing drip or perc you'll be fine , but for FP it's a crap shoot :) but for $18 at a target , much better then a blade grinder till you can get a better one
  • This coffee grinder looks really great. It's size and features makes the user really convenient. I recommend this type of coffee grinder to coffee lovers.
  • This grinder provides a relatively consistent grind size (there's even a mod listed in these reviews that promises to help). The size of grind on the smallest and the largest settings really is not that different - it clearly does not have the range of a serious burr grinder. But, as a casual burr grinder, this thing is great.
  • I was very impressed with how uniform and consistent the Black&Decker burr coffee grinders was of the coffee beans I used. Oily beans tend not to be as uniform which is why I could not give it the full compliment of 5 stars.
